I walk solo 200 miles in Europe/ UK every 5 months. A waterproof large pack able good quality is essential. I purchased the largest size possible. Great quality but barely long enough. I am 5 feet two.

It's rainy and windy at the coast during the winter. This poncho keeps me dry during errands or walking the dogs (they have rain coats). It's just right for a sweater or shirt and vest underneath. No wind gets through. It can be very warm in the car so wait until you get to you destination before putting it on.

Purchased the L/XL so it would be long on me & it is, so if you want a waist length one get the S/M. Works great, waterproof and comfortable. Hood isn't very deep so I do need a hat w/ the hood. Saw some complaints about the wind pulling it open & it does catch the wind (obviously it's basically a tent on me, on purpose) but the snaps have stayed closed when I wanted them to!

I sized up because someone mentioned tight neck on this, but I was wrong. The bigger size was too long on me, covering my hands completely. it was huge. But I really liked the quality, it's not heavy or bulky and I hope it will divert water from my legs due to its A shaped design. I am planning to reorder in a smaller size.

Bought one for myself in taupe color and for my husband in black. we are traveling to Europe in spring and Scandinavia in fall. In both cases need to be prepared for weather variables. This poncho is an elegant alternative to overpacking. Layers always are the way to go. Should block wind as well as repeal sudden rain. Got on sale and feel this was a real Eddie Bauer value.

I am a short female that normally wears an XL in women's shirts or L in men's shirts. I purchased the men's size instead of woman's so it would be longer. This worked out well. It goes to just above my knees. The fabric is soft and doesn't feel like a sheet of plastic. The pocket on the front is large and waterproof. I like how the neck keeps the water out. You unzip but there is still fabric between the zipper. If you have a very large head or neck and are female, buy the men's version. It completely covers my hands which I like because when I lift them up, the fabric isn't in the way and my long sleeves stay dry. This isn't hot because it is a cape.

Wire the pinch outside in the rain and it kept me dry. Because it is cape style, I was cool and comfortable while even wearing it over my backpack

Great for day hikes. Quick to put on. Keeps me dry without the clammy feel of rain gear. Keeps me and my pack dry. Not great in wind, but otherwise really adds to comfort in the rain.

- Yes, I recommend this productEmHGenderHeightTypeActivityPros Comfort, Fit, QualityConsGreat for my biking commuteMay 5, 2022
I've been looking at a few different options for rain wear that I thought would be great for my cycling commute. I didn't want anything to feel restricting that I could easily throw over my head and still wear a backpack (I don't care if it looks like I have a humpback, I just want the backpack dry too). There are a lot of biking options but they're either too cheap in quality or ridiculously overpriced. The Eddie Bauer poncho was a great in between for quality and cost. It's comfortable and can roll into my bag quite nicely when I don't need it. For the inevitable rainstorm during the spring, it's great to have the Pancho on hand and can easily throw on. The one thing I would want is more colors for the urban commute. Maybe a navy blue or even black so I can pretend I'm Batman.

I bought this poncho for a trip to rainy Scotland, and it is exactly what I wanted -- long enough to cover some of my pants. The hood fits perfectly, and I love the feel of the material. Also, it is warmer than my other raincoats, which I bought with California in mind.

I bought an anorak from Eddie Bauer years ago that is similar to this poncho. I love the anorak and when I saw this poncho version, I had to have it. I got a S/M and the fit is generous but tolerable. I live being able to snap to create "arms". The poncho provides a lot of coverage. I haven't used it yet but when I need it I will be glad I purchased it.

This poncho is super cute and the quality is great! It fits a on the larger side but guess what it has awesome coverage and that backpack can fit right underneath.
- Regular | Verified userGenderHeight 5'8"TypeActivityProsCons Poor FitDisappointedApr 30, 2025
Other reviews mention how tight it is to get over your head….found this very true. In addition the fabric layer behind the zipper also pushes uncomfortably up against your upper neck. Again very uncomfortable. One of the few Eddie Bauer products I've returned. Otherwise it was a serviceable poncho. If they could make that inner section adjustable or flexible I would consider it again.
- DrjGenderHeightTypeActivityPros VersatileCons Poor FitNice, Functional but WAY to ShortApr 5, 2025
I like the material and general design of this poncho but it's way too short. It needs to be at least 6 inches, preferably 12 inches longer.

Purchased as a gift. Will serve purpose of keeping dry but a little too cumbersome. Would have preferred feature to open up neck line.
- SweatyMonkeyGenderHeight 5'2"TypeActivityProsCons Not Versatile, Poor Fit, Poor QualityWaterproof, but not breathableSep 17, 2025
I'm short, and purchased the S/M. The poncho swallows me up and the initial connection between the two sides of the zipper made it awkward to take on and off (esp because I wear glasses). I cut the flap connecting the zipper and turned it into a V-neck when unzipped (obvi, it's still one piece when zipped), and I like the waterproofness. HOWEVER -- the poncho is absolutely not breathable. Even standing around indoors, I can feel the condensation building up inside. My rain jackets with sleeves breathe much better than this poncho!
