I bought a L to go over my insulating layers and it fit good and goes over my helmet as well.

    Dry and wind protection
    Feb 28, 2025

Kept me dry while skiing on a rainy day. Great wind block protection also I am 5'10", 185lb. With a base layer plus mid layer I do not feel restricted in this Medium size jacket. Hood fits nicely over ski helmet.

I purchased this product for a cruise to Iceland , Norway , Belgium , Netherlands , England I deliberately ordered larger than my normal XL so I could wear layers underneath. Kept we dry and warm !

    Chair 6 shell
    Apr 15, 2024

Bought this jacket for a spring ski trip. I t worked amazingly well. Works well with simple layering or throw something thick under it for warmth. The jacket seems to breath well and hold its own when getting snowed on. Another great piece from Eddie Bauer.

    Excellent shell Jacket
    Apr 13, 2024

This is a great shell type jacket. I have the under layers so chose this jacket for it's versatility. One suggestion would be to include an extra zipper so that it can be opened from the bottom to relieve stresses while sitting on chairs on ski lifts.

Checks all the requirements for skiers
    Dec 22, 2023

Has everything that a serious skier wants; pass pocket, powder skirt and waterproofing that rivals jackets costing 3x the price. Colors are great. And I can wear it around town on rainy days!

    Good looking and comfortable
    Nov 23, 2023

It's a great looking shell. I haven't used it yet for skiing, but it is a very versatile jacket that could be used for many activities and as a day to day jacket.

A 3L ski shell for a fraction of the price
    Nov 9, 2023

It's probably the best 3L ski jacket you can get for this price. I'll likely use it as a rain jacket for part of the year too. It feels really high quality and not crunchy like other shells. Waterproofing seems good for my use. Overall super happy with the purchase. First time buying ski product from Eddie bauer. Likely not my last.

    Versatile waterproof/windproof shell jacket
    Jan 8, 2025

I love the jacket but it's just a little too big in the body. It'll work great with layers and the length and features are everything you're looking for. I'm using it for snowshoeing and mountain hiking in the late fall/early winter/spring, so it's perfect. I was hoping I could use it in a little warmer rainy/windy weather, but it's just too loose in the body.

I would buy this product again
    Dec 24, 2024

Product fits well. Worked well in the few days of rain I've had a chance to use it in. Should be a great shell jacket for California skiing. It would be perfect for me if it had a thin fabric lining.

    Great shell.
    Mar 13, 2024

Shopped around for a shell a lot to use as a raincoat when it's warmer and a shell for skiing, hiking with an insulating layer underneath. Was looking for a Gore-tex shell since I'm very happy with the Gore-tex gloves and boots I've had, but ended up trying this with the Weatheredge because it was half the price on sale of most of the other options I was looking at. It workes very well, it's very dry and breathable, I can wear it as a rain coat on wetter but warmer days, I love that it has the pit zips for when I'm doing more active things and it's warmer out. It works well on it's own down into the 40's and it's comfortable, when it's colder than that I either use my Men's Downlight FreeFuse on it's own, or if it's cold enough layer them both. Both coats together are still not bulky. I was looking for a true ski shell that had the pass holder pocket, powder skirt, helmet compatible hood, I really appreciate all those features and the Velcro cuffs. Very happy with the performance, versatility and value of this jacket.

Great Jacket with minor tweaks needed
    Feb 27, 2024

The jacket is a stellar product for the price. Its combined breathability and waterproofness are very high quality. For me, the fit was just a little too loose and I did not like the mesh hand pockets.

Nice shell, but made nicer when on sale
    Feb 12, 2024

Very nice shell with usual and expected pros. Here are the cons: the side hand pockets (2) are too shallow; lacks inside zippable vest pocket; a bit pricey but I got it on a great end of season sale (1/2 off); needsadditional color options

    Checks the Basic Boxes
    Nov 22, 2023

As titled, it meets my minimum mandatory features, no liner, helmet hood, pit zips, powder skirt, pass pocket, inside mesh goggle/catch all. I could actually use an additional pocket or 2. Fits as expected. I went with bronze as there are limited color options. The price is pretty darn good right now.

I love the jacket - didn't like what was in the pocket.
    Jul 25, 2024

So I loved this jacket, but didn't get a chance to really use it until ~April of this year. I bought this from clearance section. I was surprised that when I wore it - there were two Lift Passes from a guy named Rick in Feb 2023 (from I'm assuming a person who bought this jacket, returned it and didn't take them out of the side pocket). So basically - I'm wearing a used jacket that someone else went skiing in. I'm not sure how I feel about this, but it's kind of skeezy.

    Good but not great
    Dec 12, 2023

Not a very weather-proof shell. While it looks good, it's not very wind-proof, and as a result you'll need to layer up a lot more than you normally would underneath. In addition, the zippers are low quality that also take some forcing to work properly. Thankfully I got this on a great sale, so I'll keep this as a fair weather shell. If you're looking for bomb-proof, stick with a similar First Ascent shell.

    Functional jacket, but...
    Nov 3, 2024

Sadly, it just didn't fit. It's a great jacket as a shell if you are big in the belly, otherwise it will look giant on you in the midsection. I'm not skinny or slim. The shoulders fit perfectly, but it's simply too big in the belly, even with 2 midlayers underneath and bungee straps pulled tight. If this was a regular or athletic cut it would be great...
