I have an older version of these gloves, and I love these. I use them as ice climbing belay gloves, I climb with them when it's really cold (single digits-zero deg F). I've been digging out snow on Tuckerman's Ravine trying to find ice screw placements, and making snow anchors. They are my go-to resort snowboarding gloves. The only time I don't wear these is on long approaches in any temp or backcountry ski/snowboard. They are waaaay too warm for me with that kind of output. I've put these through multiple seasons of abuse from rappelling and rope work which destroy gloves, and these look minimally worn.

Just spent 2 days skiing at Palisades Lake Tahoe and my hands/fingers were warm as toast. Very well designed gloves with a snow cuff to keep the powder out. Great purchase

I pretreated them with hubbards (pine tar/beeswax). They're soft, warm and waterproof if you pretreat them. I ski in these all day in single digits with no issue and the grip is fantastic.

As an associate of Eddie Bauer- I use our equipment hard. I have had the original version of the Guide Glove in my kit for years and knew there was an update coming- wow- the performance fit, the quality materials, and the new cuff were awesome. Great update and perfect for active use.

I really like the update to the guide glove. Once I had time to work in the new leather it's been spot on! Gives a nice grip and has kept my hands warm.

I've always had Guide Gloves from Eddie Bauer and really love this new update. Quality is even better than the original with high quality leather for durability. Going to get a lot of use out of these for skiing this year!
- Yes, I recommend this productDre | Verified userGenderHeightTypeActivityPros QualityCons Not VersatileGood for stationary warmth ..battery is too big for activityMar 5, 2025
These gloves were good at keeping my hands warm. Its a shame the batteries (one for each hand) that are stored in a zippered compartment on the inside part of the wrist. This causes the gloves to be heavier and clunkier in some applications. Eddie if you could cut the battery in half or better get a third of the size that would be ideal. The gloves run via the Clim8 app and can be set to varying temperatures and settings. Best from the gloves was subtle and sufficient even in bone chilling temps on a scooter. I would recommend these to people going to a cold outdoor sporting event, the chairlift at a ski resort on the way up or waiting for a bus or train. I can't see people being super active with these gloves because the added weight will be a bit much for most people. Eddie we need a lighter more streamlined version for your next effort with a much smaller battery. With all that these gloves still keep your hands warm and toasty for hours.

I have had a tan pair of these gloves for years and used them outdoors for walking, hiking, cycling (commute) and skiing - fashion or not, not having a cold thumb when skiing at minus 15C is important! And the old gloves delivered on that! I haven't had the new gloves long enough to know if anything has changed - in terms of comfort and thickness, I doubt it - they feel the same, robust, warm glove of old. However as one reviewer noted below, they've changed the cuff - it's no longer as elasticated and is quite stiff. I too preferred the older cuff - it made the glove easier to get on and off and I did not notice any rain or snow getting in. I also note there was an extra leather pad over the palm on the old gloves which has now been removed. However, I always liked these gloves for the warmth and so far I've only got them down to 0C and they are still keeping my hands warm so I will recommend them!
- NathanGenderHeightTypeActivityPros Comfort, QualityConsI like the old version betterApr 17, 2023
I like the elastic cuff on the old version better. These have a larger cuff that is not elastic, and it seems like cold air and precipitation would get in easily.
- DrewGenderHeightTypeActivityPros Comfort, FitCons Not VersatileLack of Elastic Cuffs is a Deal BreakerJan 29, 2024
I just returned from 7 days of heli-skiing. I brought two pairs of gloves. A brand new version of the Guide Pro Gloves and the prior version with elastics cuffs that i was introduced to from a heli-guide years ago in the Monoshees. I love the original version, especially the natural color. 5 star+. But my immediate concern with buying the new version was the removal of the elastic cuff. I was hesitant and looked everywhere for the previous version to no avail. I just couldn't see how these gloves could not have elastic to keep out the snow when exposed. It's been an issue since building snow forts as as a kid. When skiing, i like to wear my gloves with my jacket cuff Velcro sinched over the top. I like this more than Hestra's and other gloves that go over the top of the jacket cuff. But when you put your gloves under the jacket and powder ski, it's inevitable that the cuff will get exposed in a crash or when putting on skis, adjusting googles, etc.. And when that happens without a cuff, snow gets in the glove, and you are toast. There is no way you could user test these while skiing powder and feel differently. An elastic cuff is 100% required to keep out the snow in big winter conditions. Everything else about the glove is perfect. The feel, the warmth, the look. I hate giving a bad star rating since i want these gloves so bad, and my hope is that my feedback will result in the next version having a cuff.
- DougGenderHeightTypeActivityPros VersatileCons Poor Fit, Poor Quality, UncomfortableChanged for the worseDec 23, 2023
I owned a previous model of the guide gloves that I loved. When they wore out I Went to purchase these assuming they would be very similar, but the quality has drastically become lower and they're extremely hard to put on, and they do not fit well. They are also more bulky than the previous models and more difficult to bend.
- aaron1080GenderHeightTypeActivityPros Comfort, Fit, QualityConsI miss the old guide glovesDec 6, 2023
I've owned several sets of the EB guide gloves over the years and they have been phenomenal! Unfortunately the newest edition is lacking. No more reinforcement in the palms and fingers make the new version much less resistant to the wear and tear that a true guide would put them through. Please bring back the older version…or at least strike the "guide" name from the line.

- Ajiwani6GenderHeightTypeActivityPros Comfort, FitCons Not VersatileNot as warm as described and a little disappointing !Feb 21, 2024
I was looking for a nice pair of warm winter gloves to replace my older ones and being a loyal Eddie Bauer customer for so many years I had wanted to try out the guide pro gloves. So when they went on sale I ended up buying a pair thinking that they would be the perfect accessory during my winter morning walks, taking our dog out etc. I am actually disappointed with the warmth factor of these gloves. In terms of fit and comfort they are perfect but in terms of keeping my hands warm - which is what they are supposed to do - they definitely disappoint. Walking in just even -2C to -4C isnt great with this gloves. My older no name cheap gloves were warmer than these ones. I am not sure if I just ended up with a badly manufactured batch of these gloves or what as other reviews mentioned that these gloves were super warm. I personally would not recommend them for winter activities. I did decide to give them enough time in different winter temperatures and different activities but they definitely do not live up to the mark. I've never had any other EB product disappoint me so this is a bit unusual.

The open cuff is a bad design. I had been wearing the Pro Guide glove with the elastic cuff, i.e. the prior version for years. Durable, warm, comfortable, great dexterity. With the open cuff, it will be prone to packing snow, doesn't tuck into a jacket sleeve, and feels sloppy being open at the wrist. I would VERY MUCH like to see you bring back a version with the elastic cuff like the model prior.
