This could have been my ideal carry-on bag. It is high quality, well made, just the right size for me, relatively light-weight and have enough pockets to organize my belongings for convenient access. However, I am puzzled by the the secured stitches at four corners of the base of this bag. What purpose do they serve besides reducing the height of the bag? I made a trip to an Eddie Bauer store after receiving the bag by mail just to find out if I had received an defective product. Looks like all the Skylar line bags have the same "feature". When the bag is filled, the stitched corners made the bag looks ugly, and prevent an even distribution of weight on the base (the four stretched points are the weakest links). My search for a practical carry-on bag continues.

This bag is super cute however the secured stitching on the back corners ripped on my first use of this bag. When the stitching ripped it put 2 holes in the bag! I returned it. It would be the perfect bag if it didn't have these weird back stitches.
